Important Dates for Taxpayers

January 15
– Fourth quarter estimated tax payments due..

January 31
– Employer’s Annual Federal Unemployment Returns (FUTA) Form 940 is due.  W-2’s are required to be postmarked by this date..

January 31
– Fourth quarter payroll returns are due.  This covers October through December timeframe.

February 28 – Arizona Department of Revenue, Form A1-R, along with state copies of W-2’s are due.  Form W-3 is due to the Social Security Administration.

March 15 – Corporate & S-Corporation returns due (Forms 1120, 1120-A -Form 1120S).

April 15 – Individual Federal & State tax returns due.  Request for six month extension (Form 4868) are due.  To avoid any penalty, pay any tax that you may owe by April 15.  Deadline for making contributions to IRA or Roth IRA’s for current year’s tax return is today.

April 15 – First quarter estimated tax payment due.  Use Form 1040-ES for federal & 140-ES for State..

April 30 – First quarter payroll tax returns are due.  This covers January 1 through March 31 timeframe.

June 15 – Second quarter estimated tax payment due.  Use Form 1040-ES for federal & 140-ES for state.

July 31 – Second quarter payroll tax returns are due.  This covers April 1 though June 30 timeframe.

September 15 – S/Corporate returns that are on extension are due today.

September 15 – Third quarter estimated tax payment due.  Use Form 1040-ES for federal and 140-ES for state.

October 15 – Individual income tax returns (Form1040) that are on extension are due today.

October 31 – Third quarter payroll returns are due.  This covers July 1 through September 30 timeframe.

December 31 – Last day to make payments that can be deducted on your current year returns.

Note:  IF the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, the due date moves to the next day that is not a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday.
